action consensus
The Action Consensus is a binding framework for this action. Many groups and individuals have developed it in a collective process and decided on it by consensus. It is therefore very important to us. The action consensus is the prerequisite for the Ende Gelände action to be transparent and easy to assess for all participants; the consensus conveys that we also look out for and support each other in action. As Ende Gelände, we say what we do and will do what we say. We cordially invite all people who join this agreement to participate in the action.
From 29.07. to 02.08.21, together with many people, we will powerfully disrupt the smooth operation of the Chemcoastpark in Brunsbüttel and beyond through actions of civil disobedience. With this we set a sign against the use of fossil gas, the expansion of LNG terminals and the exploitation by neocolonial structures. In the face of worsening climate injustice and the lack of action in recent decades, we continue to believe it is necessary and appropriate to go one step further, from public protest to civil disobedience.
Our forms of action are openly announced blockades of fossil fuel, neocolonial infrastructure. Our actions offer diverse opportunities for participation, following the model of the successful Ende Gelände actions in 2015 to 2020. Whether experienced in action or not, everyone should be able to participate.
We will block and occupy infrastructure that fuels the climate crisis and perpetuates neocolonial relations of exploitation with our bodies. We will not be stopped by structural obstacles. We will flow through or around barriers of police or factory security. Our action will present an image of diversity, creativity and openness. Our action is not directed against the workers:inside. The safety of all participants is our priority. With action trainings in advance we will prepare well for the blockades and for a safe way to our action places. The end of the blockade will be decided in consultation with the support structures and the delegate plena of the fingers.
We invite small groups to enrich our action with their forms of action and are happy if they use the action weekend to express their demands for more climate justice. If small groups want support from the alliance, individual EC and support structures will decide if and how they can support them. The same applies to small groups that want to maintain blockades beyond the agreed time frame, with or without tools (e.g. lock-ons). Regardless of the form of action – it is central that we prepare well and are aware of what we are doing. We do not endanger people, we behave calmly and prudently, and we look out for each other. We come from different social movements and political spectrums. Together we take responsibility for the success of the action.
We see ourselves as part of the movement for climate justice and are in solidarity with all those who resist climate destruction through fossil energies, against the social and ecological consequences of fossil capitalism and neocolonialism. Our struggles are feminist, antifascist, antiracist, antiableist, queer, anti-capitalist, against anti-Semitism and any other form of oppression. We claim to be aware of everyday and structural discrimination among ourselves and by our environment, and actively work against it. We strive to offer space to those who experience discrimination and to raise collective awareness and attention to it.
In a racist system, people are at varying degrees of risk of being affected by repression. In this context, white-positioned people should reflect on their privileged relationship with the police as the executing body of racist legislation. Should we want to contact police, we will carefully examine our motivation, our attitude and our goal beforehand, if necessary together in the Deli plenum. Furthermore, we do not want to reproduce toxic masculinity through dominant speech behavior or appearance. We strongly oppose any queer-hostile, nationalistic, racist, anti-Semitic, conspiracy-ideological or other reactionary tendencies and attempts of appropriation.
